Another mass shooting attack targeted 'gun-free zone' of California, knowing citizens would be powerless to defend themselves... California is a human shooting range

(NaturalNews) At the time of this writing, news about the horrific mass shootings in San Bernardino, Calif., is still unfolding. There are a great many details that have not yet become clear, except that more than a dozen people have been killed, many more wounded, and that the shooters targeted the Inland Region Center, which provides assistance and care for disabled persons. Also, at this writing, a terrorism link has not yet been established or ruled out – understandable given the recent attacks in Paris, where ISIS-sponsored gunmen killed 130 people and wounded scores more. Authorities are also fairly certain there was more than one gunman, that they were heavily armed, sporting military-style gear, hoods and semi-automatic rifles. What is less certain – in fact, what is a downright mystery, both to me and tens of millions of my countrymen – is why, oh why, there continue to be "gun-free zones" in a nation whose founders sought to ensure that none of their progeny would be without a means to protect themselves and their families unless they made the personal choice to be vulnerable.

Doubling down on stupidity – and vulnerability

And honestly, California is one of the worst offenders, featuring strict gun control laws, byzantine gun licensure processes and a ruling class that is at once protected by men and women with guns but disavowed of any obligation to allow those they rule the same right. Police are continuing to sort through evidence as I write this. They have yet to identify the perpetrators of this violence, let alone locate them. Soon, families of the victims will begin to mourn, with many angrily denouncing the assailants and, sadly, many calling for even more laws and regulations that will result in more deaths, more funerals and more heartbreak for more families in the future. Like Parisians in November, San Bernardinians victimized by this latest attack had no choice but to cower in place and wait for armed police to rush in and save them. Only, as usual, armed police are never at the locations where the deranged come to slaughter, at least not initially. They do get there, eventually, but not before the maximum carnage is inflicted on bewildered and vulnerable citizens, many of whom became victims against their will. Not that it made a difference in Paris, of course, where police, who are unarmed, themselves, have no option but to cower in the face of armed and determined criminals and terrorists. The irony is not so sweet; in the U.S., following such incidents, cops that resemble soldiers fill the streets following such mass murder events. In France, actual soldiers, with body armor, are deployed.

Will anyone in power do the right thing – finally?

But what are they protecting, really? Because by the time these assets are deployed, the murderers are often long gone, and while they are most often found at a later date, in another location, the carnage has been committed, the damage done. And there is no going back in time to reverse it. Yet our "leaders" keep doubling down on vulnerability. And stupidity. And taking chances with our lives. They force companies to spend scarce resources to provide employees with training in "active shooter drills," and require them to "practice" responding to a situation that, honestly – unless you've been around "active shooting," as in a war zone – most will have no idea how they'd really react. How about, for a change, we alter our direction? How about instead of mandating more gun-free zones, we start building some "universal protection zones," where citizens are free to utilize their Second Amendment right to protect themselves, and their spiritual right to self-preservation? We've done the vulnerability thing time and time and time again; let's try the "self-defense" and "self-protection" thing, okay? Is anyone in Washington – or Sacramento – listening? It's doubtful; they're too busy looking for a way to exploit this tragedy for political gain to do the right thing.

This adds even more evidence to the notion that this may be a staged false flag event to provide Obama justification for outlawing private firearms ownership among law-abiding citizens. From the LA Times: At the Inland Regional Center, where she's a nurse, the staff works with clients and parents of clients who are sometimes angry. They have active-shooter drills every month or so. "Drill started," she texted her husband, Mark, around 11 a.m. She walked to a window nearby and filmed a video as law enforcement sprinted toward the building.

Astronomically unlucky shooters?

Yes, this woman actually texted, "Drill started." She recognized the pattern of movement that law enforcement has drilled countless times before. It's the same thing they've been drilling for every single month. What are the mathematical odds that a building where law enforcement has been "active shooter" drilling month after month would be randomly hit by active shooters? Nearly zero, of course. Similarly, of all the buildings in Los Angeles, how many are used by police as training grounds for monthly shooting drills? Virtually zero. Maybe these active shooters are just incredibly, astronomically unlucky, huh? They chose to be active shooters in the exact same building where LA law enforcement has been training in active shooting drills for months! Anyone who believes this is sheer coincidence is delusional.

"They know it's going to happen..."

That same LA Times story quotes the woman's husband: Mark Vong said he told his wife to stay calm and not to panic. "They train for this," he said, standing outside a police barricade Wednesday afternoon. "They know it's going to happen." Of course they know it's going to happen! They've been drilling the scenario for months! How blatant do these staged shootings have to get before people wake up and realize it's all a tragic manipulation of public emotions in order to confiscate guns from private citizens and unleash an Obama totalitarian regime that will soon be handed off to Hillary Clinton for the "full tyranny" crackdown? .................................................................................................

BREAKING: SWAT Team Drill Turns into REAL Mass Shooting Scenario in San Bernardino, CA

 
San Bernardino, CA — An active shooter situation is currently underway in the 1300 block of South Waterman Avenue in San Bernardino, California. The shooting apparently took place at the Inland Regional Center, which is a facility that provides services for people who have developmental disabilities. The facility had just celebrated its Christmas party. While details are scarce, what we have been told by authorities is that police are looking for 1-3 shooters and there are approximately 20 victims, with 12 being presumed dead.

 Fox Los Angeles reports that the suspects are “white males” in “military gear” and armed with “rifles.” According to KTLA, police have warned people not to talk to the media. At one point during the KTLA live stream, the reporter attempted to interview a witness and multiple officers rushed up and pushed the reporters and the witnesses apart. Obama Introduces MyRA: The "No Risk, Guaranteed Return" Retirement Savings Bond

In his State of the Union address tonight, President Obama announced that he would introduce a new kind of retirement-savings plan for workers who don’t have access to such plans through their jobs. “While the stock market has doubled over the last five years, that doesn’t help folks who don’t have 401(k)s,” the president said. But how much of an impact will his proposal have for middle- and lower-income savers?

Introducing ‘myRA’ to Congress and America.
The plan, which Obama dubbed the “myRA” (rhymes with the initials “IRA”), is designed to create “starter accounts” that would help novice investors avoid some common pitfalls of retirement savings. In briefing materials accompanying the State of the Union address, the administration noted that many private-sector providers don’t allow “smaller balance savers” to open accounts; providers who do allow such accounts often charge fees that can eat up a proportionately high percentage of their balances.
In his address, Obama described the myRA as “a new savings bond” that “guarantees a decent return with no risk of losing what you put in.” That wording brings to mind efforts by the Treasury Department to create “R bonds,” a special kind of interest-paying Treasury bond aimed at retirement savers; details of how such a bond would work haven’t been released yet.
In The Wall Street Journal this evening, Damian Paletta and Anne Tergesen report that the administration “is expected to encourage employers to offer the investment vehicles to employees who would be automatically enrolled unless they specifically elected not to participate.”

Can Obama's 'MyRA' Lure Workers Who Don't Save for Retirement?



President Obama picked a good venue to boost the “MyRA” retirement savings accounts he touted in last night’s State of the Union address. He spoke at a U.S. Steel plant in Pennsylvania, a state where the public pension system has a $47 billion shortfall and where workers would be right to worry about running out of money as they age.
Defined-benefit plans are disappearing—they covered 35 percent of Americans in the early 1990s and only 18 percent in 2011—and defined-contribution plans such as IRAs and 401(k)s haven’t made up the difference. Too few American workers have such accounts, and most of the ones who do don’t save enough. A survey last year by the Employee Benefits Research Institute found that only 13 percent of respondents are “very confident” they will be able to live comfortably in retirement.

While appearing on NPR Tuesday morning, White House adviser John Podesta said President Obama is "warming up" to the idea of unilaterally ruling by executive fiat, bypassing Congress whenever he can, CNS News reported.
"But he doesn't like to do this, does he?" the NPR host asked.
"Uh, I think he's warmed up to it," Podesta responded, laughing.
Podesta assured NPR that Obama would be using his executive authority to address a number of issues, including global warming.
"And I think you'll see that across a wide range of topics, including retirement security, moving forward on his climate change and energy transformation agenda," he added. "There's a lot that he has the authority to do that's vested in him under the laws of the United States and his constitutional powers, and I think that he's looking forward to a year of action, and I think he's looking forward to tonight as a breakthrough year where he can lay out some of these practical, concrete ideas that will get people on-board a stable economic footing and see their wages going up for the first time in a long time."

While testifying before a House panel Tuesday, Michael Cannon, director of the Cato Institute's Health Policy Studies, said Barack Obama's behavior -- specifically, his failure to adhere to the law -- could spark an armed revolt against the government, Mediaite reported.
“There is one last thing to which the people can resort if the government does not respect the restraints that the constitution places on the government,” he said. “Abraham Lincoln talked about our right to alter our government or our revolutionary right to overthrow it.”
“That is certainly something that no one wants to contemplate,” he added. “If the people come to believe that the government is no longer constrained by the laws then they will conclude that neither are they.”
“That is a very dangerous sort of thing for the president to do, to wantonly ignore the laws,” Cannon said, “to try to impose obligations upon people that the legislature did not approve.”
After the 2010 midterm elections, the liberal Center for American Progress advised Obama to use all of his executive power -- including his authority as commander-in-chief of the military -- to unilaterally push his agenda while bypassing Congress.
The result has been an unchecked executive branch issuing mandates through regulations and executive orders, sometimes ignoring established law.
In his written testimony, Cannon said that since signing the ACA into law, Obama has "failed to execute that law faithfully."
Obama, he said, "has unilaterally taken taxpayer dollars made available by the PPACA and diverted them from their congressionally authorized purposes toward purposes for which no Congress has ever appropriated funds."

On Tuesday, White House Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that Americans are "hungry" for Obama to take unilateral action, bypassing Congress wherever he can to get things done, CNS News reported.
"People around our country are hungry for action," she said. "And what you'll hear from the president tonight is going to be all about action -- creating opportunity -- and it's going to be a very optimistic speech."
According to Jarrett, Obama will "set forth very specific, concrete proposals that he thinks will move our country forward -- create opportunity for hard-working Americans who want to succeed."
Although Obama will prod Congress to act on his agenda, Jarrett said Obama "will make clear tonight that he will take action on his own," bypassing Congress when he sees fit.
"We're going to do what we can, within the president's own executive power, and working throughout the country with those who want to move our country forward," she added. "And it is a lot of potential there. And I think the optimism that the president has comes from the grit and determination of the American people, our businesses, many of who (sic) are bringing jobs back to America, so we have some momentum going, and we just need to call on everybody to work together, and that's what the president will do this evening."

Obama hiking minimum wage for new federal contracts

The increase, by President Obama's executive order, would benefit workers like army base employees and federally contracted janitors and construction workers.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will sign an executive order setting the minimum wage for workers under new federal contracts at $10.10 an hour, the White House said Tuesday. The president will announce the increase during his State of the Union address.
The increase from a national minimum wage of $7.25 an hour will not affect existing federal contracts, only new ones. Moreover, contract renewals will not be affected unless other terms of the agreement change.
The order would be one of the biggest examples in the State of the Union of Obama's vow to use presidential authority to push for policies by circumventing Congress.
Obama has been under pressure from liberal groups and employee advocates to use his executive authority to raise the minimum pay for federal contractors. By limiting the increase to new contracts, the order would affect far fewer employees than if it applied to all government contractors.

Just do it, Mr. President.

If Congress won't raise the federal minimum wage, you can. At least for people who work for companies that get federal contracts, subcontracts and grants.
So says a group of liberals in the House and Senate who want President Obama to sign an executive order requiring federal agencies to give preference in awarding contracts to companies that pay workers no less than $10.10 an hour.
Currently the federal minimum wage is $7.25. And there's been a push by Democrats to raise it to $10.10 -- an idea that Obama supports.
Doing so directly and indirectly could raise pay for up to 28 million workers, according to estimates from the liberal Economic Policy Institute.
But there's not a high chance Congress will pass that proposal anytime soon.
That's why 15 senators, led by Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and 17 members of the House, led by Keith Ellison of Minnesota, sent letters to the president urging him to exercise his executive authority.
"Profitable corporations that receive lucrative contracts from the federal government should pay all of their workers a decent wage," the senators wrote in their letter.
Demos, a liberal think tank, estimates such a move -- depending on how broadly it's structured -- could improve wages for up to nearly 2 million low-paid workers.

In remarks before a cabinet meeting Tuesday, President Obama promised more executive action bypassing Congress, telling those assembled he would use "a pen and a phone," The Blaze reported.
“So Congress is going to be busy, and I’m looking forward to working with Democrats and Republicans, House members and Senate members, to try to continue to advance the economic recovery and to provide additional ladders of opportunity for everybody,” he said.
“But one of the things that I’ll be emphasizing in this meeting is the fact that we are not just going to be waiting for legislation in order to make sure that we’re providing Americans the kind of help that they need. I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone," he added.
Translation: Obama is set to use his executive authority to bypass Congress -- again.
Obama explained further: “I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward in helping to make sure our kids are getting the best education possible and making sure that our businesses are getting the kind of support and help they need to grow and advance to make sure that people are getting the skills that they need to get those jobs that our businesses are creating."
But the president wasn't finished.

President Obama seems ready to work around Congress in 2014, telling reporters before his first Cabinet meeting of the year Tuesday that he stood ready to use two tools, a pen and a phone, to provide help for Americans.
“We are not just going to be waiting for legislation in order to make sure that we're providing Americans the kind of help that they need. I've got a pen, and I've got a phone. And I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward in helping to make sure our kids are getting the best education possible, making sure that our businesses are getting the kind of support and help they need to grow and advance, to make sure that people are getting the skills that they need to get those jobs that our businesses are creating,” the president said.
“I've got a phone that allows me to convene Americans from every walk of life, nonprofits, businesses, the private sector, universities to try to bring more and more Americans together around what I think is a unifying theme: making sure that this is a country where, if you work hard, you can make it,” he added.
He encouraged Congress to extend unemployment insurance and pass some form of immigration reform, and said he has plans to meet with university presidents to talk about college affordability and CEOs to talk about hiring the long-term unemployed.
The president has found himself at odds with Republicans since he was first elected in 2008. Although there has been bipartisan legislation in the past, the Republican takeover of the House of Representatives made those moments few and far between and looking for other ways to affect his agenda. Still, he said he would work with both parties and both chambers of Congress to continue the economic recovery, and he predicted “we can see a lot of improvements this year” if everyone works together.

"We've got a lot to do in 2014," President Obama said on Tuesday as he prepared to convene his first Cabinet meeting of the year. And he said he plans to get things done, with or without Congress:

"But one of the things that I'll be emphasizing in this meeting is the fact that we are not just going to be waiting for legislation in order to make sure that we're providing Americans the kind of help that they need.

"I've got a pen, and -- and I've got a phone. And I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward in helping to make sure our kids are getting the best education possible, making sure that our businesses are getting the kind of support and help they need to grow and advance to make sure that people are getting the skills that they need to get those jobs that our businesses are creating.

"And I've got a phone that allows me to convene Americans from every walk of life -- nonprofits, businesses, the private sector, universities -- to try to bring more and more Americans together around what I think is a unifying theme, making sure that this is a country where if you work hard, you can make it.

"And so one of the things that I'm going to be talking to my Cabinet about is how do we use all the tools available to us, not just legislation, in order to advance a mission that I think unifies all Americans -- the belief that everybody's got a big responsibility, everybody's got to work hard, but if you do, that you can support a family and, you know, meet the kinds of obligations that you have to yourself and your family but also to your communities and to your nation."

Obama has declared 2014 a "year of action." He said he's "very pleased" that the House and Senate have agreed to a $1.1 trillion spending bill for fiscal 2014: He said the funding level "will allow us to take some important steps to provide the services and help that Americans need...to get ahead in this economy."

He urged Congress to quickly pass the budget, as well as an extension of unemployment insurance and immigration reform. In the days ahead, Obama plans to plug manufacturing, college affordability, and opportunities for the long-term unemployed.

"So overall, the message to my cabinet -- and that will be amplified in our State of the Union -- is that we need all hands on deck to build on the recovery that we're already seeing. The economy is improving, but it can be improving even faster. A lot of people are doing better than they were in the depths of the recession, but there are still a lot of folks who need help.

"And I am absolutely confident that in 2014, if we're all working in the same direction and not worrying so much about political points but worrying much more about getting the job done, that we can see a lot of improvement this year, and people will look back on 2014 as a year in which we didn't just turn the corner in the aggregate for the economy, but everybody started feeling a little more optimistic about our futures."
