Parliament wasted 45,000 meals last year as tens of thousands of children go hungry across London, an MP has said.
New
figures that reveal the staggering amount of food waste in the British
parliament have prompted calls for MPs to donate their unused meals to
those in need.
Shadow Commons Leader Chris Bryant called on the government to give uneaten meals to local food banks in the capital.
“Last
year 1.2 million sausages were sent to landfill in Rhondda Cynon Taf
alone, which is why it is great that the local council is now signing
everybody up to proper food recycling,” the Welsh Labour MP said.
“But new figures show that this House last year wasted 45,000 meals that were just tipped in the bin.
“With
33 Trussell Trust food banks within the M25 and an estimated 70,000
children in London going to bed hungry each night, would it not be time
for the leader to institute a new scheme to donate unused food from this
palace to local London food banks?”

“What has Afghanistan done wrong, what has Iraq done wrong? Why has Libya been destroyed, what's happening today in Syria? Can we close our eyes to that?" he said.

Interior Secretary Sally Jewell
said Wednesday she is unaware of anyone being fired, fined or even
demoted for the Gold King Mine spill, prompting Republicans to accuse
her of taking the EPA off the hook for the toxic blowout.
“So you’re letting the EPA get off scot-free it sounds like. They are not being held accountable,” said Rep. Doug Lamborn, Colorado Republican, at the House Natural Resources Committee hearing.
Republicans took Ms. Jewell to task for the Interior Department’s
investigation into the Aug. 5 spill, saying the October report failed
to hold anyone responsible for unleashing 3 million gallons of orange,
toxic wastewater into the Animas River near Silverton, Colorado.
“You’re directly responsible for this report. The EPA
had promised this committee a thorough investigation,” said Rep. Tom
McClintock, California Republican. “We have not gotten one. What we have
gotten is a complete, deliberate whitewash.”

(NaturalNews) At the time of this writing, news about the horrific mass shootings in San Bernardino, Calif., is still unfolding. There are a great many details that have not yet become clear, except that more than a dozen people have been killed, many more wounded, and that the shooters targeted the Inland Region Center, which provides assistance and care for disabled persons. Also, at this writing, a terrorism link has not yet been established or ruled out – understandable given the recent attacks in Paris, where ISIS-sponsored gunmen killed 130 people and wounded scores more.
Authorities are also fairly certain there was more than one gunman, that they were heavily armed, sporting military-style gear, hoods and semi-automatic rifles.
What is less certain – in fact, what is a downright mystery, both to me and tens of millions of my countrymen – is why, oh why, there continue to be "gun-free zones" in a nation whose founders sought to ensure that none of their progeny would be without a means to protect themselves and their families unless they made the personal choice to be vulnerable.
Doubling down on stupidity – and vulnerability
And honestly, California is one of the worst offenders, featuring strict gun control laws, byzantine gun licensure processes and a ruling class that is at once protected by men and women with guns but disavowed of any obligation to allow those they rule the same right.
Police are continuing to sort through evidence as I write this. They have yet to identify the perpetrators of this violence, let alone locate them. Soon, families of the victims will begin to mourn, with many angrily denouncing the assailants and, sadly, many calling for even more laws and regulations that will result in more deaths, more funerals and more heartbreak for more families in the future.
Like Parisians in November, San Bernardinians victimized by this latest attack had no choice but to cower in place and wait for armed police to rush in and save them. Only, as usual, armed police are never at the locations where the deranged come to slaughter, at least not initially. They do get there, eventually, but not before the maximum carnage is inflicted on bewildered and vulnerable citizens, many of whom became victims against their will.
Not that it made a difference in Paris, of course, where police, who are unarmed, themselves, have no option but to cower in the face of armed and determined criminals and terrorists.
The irony is not so sweet; in the U.S., following such incidents, cops that resemble soldiers fill the streets following such mass murder events. In France, actual soldiers, with body armor, are deployed.
Will anyone in power do the right thing – finally?
But what are they protecting, really? Because by the time these assets are deployed, the murderers are often long gone, and while they are most often found at a later date, in another location, the carnage has been committed, the damage done. And there is no going back in time to reverse it.
Yet our "leaders" keep doubling down on vulnerability. And stupidity. And taking chances with our lives. They force companies to spend scarce resources to provide employees with training in "active shooter drills," and require them to "practice" responding to a situation that, honestly – unless you've been around "active shooting," as in a war zone – most will have no idea how they'd really react.
How about, for a change, we alter our direction? How about instead of mandating more gun-free zones, we start building some "universal protection zones," where citizens are free to utilize their Second Amendment right to protect themselves, and their spiritual right to self-preservation? We've done the vulnerability thing time and time and time again; let's try the "self-defense" and "self-protection" thing, okay?
Is anyone in Washington – or Sacramento – listening? It's doubtful; they're too busy looking for a way to exploit this tragedy for political gain to do the right thing.

(NaturalNews) Get this: The location where the shooting was carried out in San Bernardino -- the Inland Regional Center -- has been subjected to monthly active shooter drills, we're now learning.
This adds even more evidence to the notion that this may be a staged false flag event to provide Obama justification for outlawing private firearms ownership among law-abiding citizens.

At the Inland Regional Center, where she's a nurse, the staff works with clients and parents of clients who are sometimes angry. They have active-shooter drills every month or so.
"Drill started," she texted her husband, Mark, around 11 a.m.
She walked to a window nearby and filmed a video as law enforcement sprinted toward the building.
Astronomically unlucky shooters?
Yes, this woman actually texted, "Drill started." She recognized the pattern of movement that law enforcement has drilled countless times before. It's the same thing they've been drilling for every single month.
What are the mathematical odds that a building where law enforcement has been "active shooter" drilling month after month would be randomly hit by active shooters? Nearly zero, of course. Similarly, of all the buildings in Los Angeles, how many are used by police as training grounds for monthly shooting drills? Virtually zero.
Maybe these active shooters are just incredibly, astronomically unlucky, huh? They chose to be active shooters in the exact same building where LA law enforcement has been training in active shooting drills for months!
Anyone who believes this is sheer coincidence is delusional.
"They know it's going to happen..."
That same LA Times story quotes the woman's husband:
Mark Vong said he told his wife to stay calm and not to panic.
"They train for this," he said, standing outside a police barricade Wednesday afternoon. "They know it's going to happen."
Of course they know it's going to happen! They've been drilling the scenario for months!
How blatant do these staged shootings have to get before people wake up and realize it's all a tragic manipulation of public emotions in order to confiscate guns from private citizens and unleash an Obama totalitarian regime that will soon be handed off to Hillary Clinton for the "full tyranny" crackdown?

VICTORVILLE — San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies, unloaded guns drawn, shouted “Get down! Get on the ground!” as they cleared the Victor Valley College library on Monday morning during an active shooter exercise.
Meanwhile, students with pretend injuries acted as victims of a campus shooting.
Staff and students received advance notice of the drill, in which the VVC Police Department joined the county Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department and American Medical Response.
As the sound of gunshots blared through a speaker playing a looped soundtrack, students of the VVC Corrections, Paramedic and Fire academies were given their assignments in the practice scenario.
About a half-dozen students sported torn and bloodied clothing and some fake flesh wounds. They awaited help until the all clear was given by officials, and students were able to assess and treat their wounds after escorting them from the building.
“Just as if this were a real shooting, what we’re doing now is pulling out everyone who’s not a suspect from the building,” campus police officer D.H. Jones said as the "victims" emerged from the library. They were led to the parking lot behind it, where emergency vehicles waited.
San Bernardino, CA — An active shooter situation is currently underway in the 1300 block of South Waterman Avenue in San Bernardino, California.
The shooting apparently took place at the Inland Regional Center, which is a facility that provides services for people who have developmental disabilities. The facility had just celebrated its Christmas party.
While details are scarce, what we have been told by authorities is that police are looking for 1-3 shooters and there are approximately 20 victims, with 12 being presumed dead.
Fox Los Angeles reports that the suspects are “white males” in “military gear” and armed with “rifles.” According to KTLA, police have warned people not to talk to the media. At one point during the KTLA live stream, the reporter attempted to interview a witness and multiple officers rushed up and pushed the reporters and the witnesses apart. After the shooting began, San Bernardino Police Department Lt. Richard Lawhead said that their SWAT team happened to be conducting training nearby. The team was suited, “ready to roll” and responded rapidly, Lawhead said.
A
gag order was placed on Tony and Sabrina Cartee by a Randolph County
judge to prevent them from talking to media and the public about the
medical kidnapping of their children by Child Protective Services.
However, Sabrina’s parents are not under the gag order, and contacted Health Impact News reporting
that they can no longer sit back and watch the unjust destruction of
their family by Child Protective Services, and one social worker in
particular. Tommy and Winnie Crumbley, Sabrina’s parents, had a great
deal to say about what is happening in the lives of their grandchildren.
They are frightened for their well-being and want them to come back
home.
As previously reported, the Cartee children were taken by
Child Protective Services, known as DHR (Department of Human Resources)
in Alabama, when their then 5 year old son began “eloping” – the term
used when autistic children wander away from home. One of his older
brothers had already been diagnosed as autistic, and the family
suspected that he was as well. They just didn’t have a diagnosis yet.
When
their newest baby was born in September 2014, DHR seized the
breastfeeding baby from her mother’s arms just 2 days after she was
born.
The
violations of the family’s moral, legal, and Constitutional rights are
numerous and egregious, report the Crumbleys. They say that their
grandchildren should never have been taken away from their parents, and
they want to see them returned to Sabrina and Tony, “where they belong.”
The Cartee’s 17 year old daughter has also emailed us, saying:
I
want to go home, my parents have not done anything wrong and we don’t
deserve to be harrassed by Alecia [social worker] anymore!!
Children Were Supposed to Be Returned Home in August
When
the children were first taken, Tommy Crumbley reports that Alecia
McFarland, the social worker from Randolph County DHR, told his daughter
that if it was left up to Alecia, she would never let the Cartee
children come home. She gave no reason why, and the Crumbleys don’t
understand her apparent hostility toward their family.
The
Crumbleys told us that the Randolph County judge ruled in June that all
of the children were to be returned home by the time school started in
August. At the time, the 7 children were living in 4 separate places,
some with relatives and some in foster homes. Even though DHR seized all
the children at the same time (except the baby, who wasn’t yet born),
they wanted to “transition” the children home, a few at a time.
Allegedly, the social workers thought it would be “overwhelming” for all
of the children to come home at once.

Finally,
there’s documented medical proof that electromagnetic hypersensitivity

A
genetically modified salmon that grows at twice the rate of regular
salmon has been approved as food by the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration.
The eggs for the salmon are raised in a facility
in the eastern P.E.I. community of Bay Fortune and exported to Panama,
where they're grown in above-ground tanks.
This is the first genetically modified food animal approved for sale in the world.
"The
FDA has thoroughly analyzed and evaluated the data and information
submitted by AquaBounty Technologies regarding AquAdvantage Salmon and

North Carolina lawmakers on Wednesday (July 24) approved a bill to
prohibit judges from considering “foreign laws” in their decisions, but
nearly everyone agrees that “foreign laws” really means Shariah, or
Islamic law.
North Carolina now joins six other states — Oklahoma,
Arizona, Kansas, Louisiana, South Dakota, and Tennessee — to pass a
“foreign laws” bill. A similar bill passed in Missouri, but Gov. Jay
Nixon vetoed it, citing threats to international adoptions.
The
bills all cite “foreign laws” because two federal courts have ruled that
singling out Shariah — as Oklahoma voters originally did in 2010 — is
unconstitutional.
So what’s the big deal with Shariah?
Many
Americans think of Shariah as an Islamic legal system characterized by
misogyny, intolerance, and harsh punishments. Some anti-Islamic
activists warn that Muslims are trying to sneak Shariah into the
American legal system in ways that do not reflect U.S. legal principles
or beliefs.
Many Muslim Americans counter that Shariah is
essential to belief, and that any harsh punishments or unconstitutional
aspects associated with Islamic law have either been exaggerated,
abrogated or are superseded by American law.
Muslims around the
world have varying views about what Shariah entails, and its role in
personal and public life. So what exactly is Shariah? Here are five
facts that might help make sense of this complex and often misunderstood
term.
<NationalReport>In a surprise weekend vote, the city council of Dearborn, Michigan
voted 4-3 to became the first US city to officially implement all
aspects of Sharia Law. The tough new law, slated to go into effect
January 1st, addresses secular law including crime, politics and
economics as well as personal matters such as sexual intercourse,
fasting, prayer, diet and hygiene.
The new law could see citizens
stoned for adultery or having a limb amputated for theft. Lesser
offenses, such as drinking alcohol or abortion, could result in flogging
and/or caning. In addition, the law imposes harsh laws with regards to
women and allows for child marriage.
Some in town seem to welcome
the new legislation while others have denounced the move as “abhorrent”,
a threat to freedom and incompatible with the Constitution. When asked
by National Report about the need for such a law, local resident Jeremy
Ahmed stated:

governors of Alabama and Michigan said Sunday they would accept any
refugees from Syria in their states, amid concerns about “gaping holes”
impacting America’s screening process.

governors of Alabama, Michigan, Indiana and Texas are among at least a
dozen of those challenging Obama over refugees. They are sending a
strong message to President Obama saying they won’t allow their states
to receive any more Syrian refugees in light of the recent attack in Paris by ISIS.
Reports that at least one of the Paris attackers slipped through
Europe’s immigration system, as well as concerns about ‘gaping holes’
impacting America’s screening process are the reasons for the decision,
stated Fox News Monday
In
light of the attacks, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Monday that he
sent a letter to President Obama informing him that Texas will not take
any Syrian refugees.
"Neither you nor any
federal official can guarantee that Syrian refugees will not be part of
any terroristic activity," Abbott wrote. "As such, opening our door to
them irresponsibly exposes our fellow Americans to unacceptable peril."
Abbott
joins a growing list of governors who have said they will not resettle
Syrian refugees. Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson tweeted, "As Governor I
will oppose Syrian refugees being located to Arkansas." Michigan has a
large Arab-American population. According to Breitbart, Michigan has reportedly taken in roughly 2,000 refugees, 200 of which were Syrian.
Michigan
Gov. Rick Snyder said Sunday he was putting his prior calls for
accepting more refugees on hold until the Department of Homeland
Security reviewed its screening procedures.
“Michigan
is a welcoming state and we are proud of our rich history of
immigration,” Snyder announced in a statement. “But our first priority
is protecting the safety of our residents.” He added, “It’s also
important to remember that these attacks are the efforts of extremists
and do not reflect the peaceful ways of people of Middle Eastern descent
here and around the world.”
After reports
emerged that refugees from Syria were recently taken into his state, GOP
presidential candidate Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is looking for
answers from the Obama administration.
“Louisiana
has been kept in the dark about those seeking refuge in the state,”
Jindal stated in a letter to Obama. “It is irresponsible and severely
disconcerting to place individuals, who may have ties to ISIS, in a
state without the state’s knowledge or involvement. … As governor of
Louisiana, I demand information.”
