News had to issue a correction Friday after publishing an article about
President Barack Obama that called Kenya “the country of his birth.”
The
article, about Obama’s
upcoming trip to Africa, stated:
President
Barack Obama makes the first extended trip to Africa of his presidency
next week — but he won’t be stopping at the country of his birth.

The story was
revised to say
Obama “won’t be stopping in his ancestral homeland” and a correction
was posted stating, “An earlier version of this story incorrectly
identified the president’s birthplace.”
